Enhancing Your Natural Beauty

Cosmetic Surgery of the Eyelids (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery is one of the most dramatic ways to rejuvenate your appearance. It can correct undesirable baggy eyes, dark circles, and puffiness to enhance your youthful look.

Procedure:

Dr. Thomas will first examine individual wrinkles and creases along your eyelids. In upper eyelid surgery, an incision is only made along the natural crease of the upper eyelid. For lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made along the lash line and smile lines. After incisions are made, Dr. Thomas will remove excess fat and skin and recontour the underlying muscle. Finally, he will carefully close the incisions so that the scar is almost invisible.

To correct eyelid puffiness caused by excess fat, Dr. Thomas may suggest a transconjunctival blepharoplasty. In this case, a tiny incision is made inside the lower eyelid, leaving sutures concealed.
