Advanced Therapy in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

In the book, Dr. Thomas has collaborated with nationally known facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons to present 67 chapters of comprehensive coverage of the most current techniques in the field. Coverage includes detailed descriptions with clinical and surgical photos of cosmetic-aesthetic procedures and reconstructive procedures. Procedures include congenital abnormalities, facial trauma, cancer and special chapters on scar revision and camouflage surgery, grafts and implants, laser surgery, and wound healing.

In his academic role at UIC, Dr. Thomas teaches medical students, residents, and fellowship physicians. His specialties include rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the nose), blepharoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the eyelids), facelift (rhytidectomy), and multiple other cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures of the face, head and neck.

A renowned speaker, Dr. Thomas shares his expertise at medical meetings, courses, and conferences to advance the practice of facial plastic surgery. He has authored hundreds of scientific papers and publications, including four previous textbooks.

His professional credentials include Past President of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Past President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and current President-Elect of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
